Selfcare Saturday

It’s saturdaaayyyy!





I really cannot believe I restrained from beating the shit out of my colleagues the whole week!
I also cannot believe half the day Is already gone.
I have been sitting here, watching My Hero Academia and just enjoying my free time.
I need this and so do you.
9 – 5 jobs are killer. You may think you’re used to it but the truth is, your nervous system is strained to the highest point possible. Your brain and muscles are working overtime. You’ve just adapted to the pain so much that you ‘feel alright’ and ‘don’t think you need a nap’.
You’re killing yourself. Literally.
We should all take breaks at some point. The truth is working overtime from Monday to Friday and then going back to the office to do extra work on a Saturday is not going to earn you that promotion. Why? Because you are NOT GOING TO DO THE WORK EFFICIENTLY! I’m sure as hell you don’t have the same constant flow of energy for all the hours in a day. You’re gonna get tired, then you’re gonna do shit, then YOU’RE GONNA GET FIRED!
Also, even if you do get that promotion, you’re a dead man because your boss will demand that same extra work from you for the rest of your days! You can’t keep up with that. Then you’ll break down and end up in a hospital for a month and then your boss will find a replacement who can do a better job and you’ll be sick, broke and unemployed!
It ain’t worth it.
Do selfcare, even if it’s just a few hours on your weekend. Get your favorite food/snack and watch your favorite movie. Read your favorite book or a new one. Write. Use good skincare products or DIY some at home and apply them to your body. Put on some music and dance. Do your favorite activity. MEDITATE!
Life will be so much better.






There’s something we say here in Nigeria. It’s “BODY NO BE FIREWOOD”
You’re not firewood. You’re not absolutely unbreakable or immune to stress and sickness. You’re not a machine.
Take care of yourself.
